Meet Matsiko Confidence

Founder & Director, Confidence Africa Tours & Travel · Community Development & Conservation Advocate

Confidence Africa Tours & Travel was established in 2015, specialising in wildlife, cultural and birding journeys across Uganda and Rwanda — for travellers of every kind, from shoestring to luxury.

It was founded by Ugandan-born Matsiko Confidence, a qualified tourist driver-guide in both Uganda and Rwanda. He has trained in tour and travel management, tourism business operations and safari guiding, and has led travellers through both countries since 2007. He speaks seven languages, and his work is driven by a deep love for the African people, cultures, wildlife and landscape.

With an academic background in Diplomacy and Global Studies, Social Work and Social Administration, and studies in security and defence, Matsiko brings an interdisciplinary perspective to tourism and community development. He is particularly interested in the intersection between tourism, diplomacy, environmental security, peace, conservation, and international cooperation.

Matsiko is also the Founder of Matsiko Community Empowerment Initiative (MCEI) Uganda, through which he advocates for community empowerment, sustainable development, humanitarian values, environmental protection, and stronger partnerships between communities and international organizations.

The journeys range across Uganda and Rwanda — destinations rich with wildlife, primates, traditional cultures and extraordinary scenery, from wide savannahs and rolling hills to jaw-dropping skylines. Accommodation runs to exotic forts, boutique resorts and luxury lodges, each chosen to deepen the experience rather than simply house it.

From heart-pounding gorilla treks in Bwindi to serene kayaking on Lake Bunyonyi, cultural immersions and epic savannah safaris — every moment is curated. One trip, countless memories.
